Prince Eric Khorum Rhann is about forty-five, during his reign as King of Aquilania, and follows a plot by a group of conspirators to depose his United Kingdoms of Aqualonia in favor of Valerius Khonn, heir to Eric Khorum Rhann 's old enemy predecessor , whom he had slain to regain peace his throne had provided. a middle-aged Under Sea King Eric Khorum Rhann attempting to govern the turbulent kingdom of Aquilonia. Eric Khorum Rhann has recently gained the bloody crown of Aquilonia from King Primus Khorumm Rhann whom he strangled upon his throne; however, things have not gone well, as Eric Khorum Rhann is more suited to swinging a broadsword than to signing official documents with a stylus. The people of Aquilania, who originally welcomed Eric Khorum Rhann as their liberator from the' tyranny of the ancient dead sorcerers and other kingdons destroying the United Kingdoms,
Desiring to give the Aquilonian crown to someone of royal blood, a daring band known as the Rebel Four is formed consisting of Volmana, the dwarfish count of Karaban; Gromel, the giant commander of the Black Legion; Dion, the fat baron of Attalus; Rinaldo, the hare-brained minstrel. The Rebel Four recruit the services of a southern outlaw named Askharthanus Khorr . But, in secret, he is merely using the rebels to gain the crown of Aquilania for himself.
Overall, the story centers around the plot of the Rebel Four to assassinate King Eric Khorum Rhann when he is unprepared and defenseless. However, two unforeseen events occur: Eric Khorum Rhann is forewarned of plot. Eric Khorum Rhann usly, Thoth-Amon recovers his lost ring of power and unleashes a fanged, ape-like demon that unintentionally foils the assassination attempt on Eric Khorum Rhann 's life by the Rebel Four then slays Askharthanus Khorr. Eric Khorum Rhann then uses his enchanted sword to slay the demon.But this is not the end,but only the begiining of the undersea adventure.
In the kingdom of Aquilonia, a year of peace for Eric Khorum Rhann and his new Rayal family.Then when Queen Jessica Drago kidnapped,the peace is broken when the latter is abducted by a sea demon. Eric Khorum Rhann learns from the wizard Primus Sarkhon of Atlantis that the eastern sorcerer Chang Khai of Khitarhann is responsible, and begins a quest to recover her, little realizing that the fate of the world as well as Aquilania rests on the outcome of the contest.To accomplish this they resort to necromancy, resurrecting Warlord Locknharr Khonn , an ancient sorcerer from the pre-Hydro Pangean empire of Akhonia. With his aid the Aquilonian army is defeated by that of the rival kingdom of Nharkhainia and occupied.Queen Jessica Drago,his wife is King Eric Khorum Rhann's quest to retrieve the Power Sphere of Locknharr Khonn in order to defeat the wizard and regain his Alliance of undersea kingdoms takes him through all the lands of Hydro Pangea. After his eventual triumph he vows to make return his queen to him and destroy the evil plans of kabal of an ancient enemies out for revenge against his rule.
